Dr. Tara Scott

Fellow of American College of OB/GYN; Advanced Fellow and certified in Anti-aging, Regenerative, and Functional Medicine; Board Certified, American Board of Integrative Medicine, Certified Menopause Practitioner through the North American Menopause Society; Clinical Associate Professor of OB/GYN at Northeast Ohio Medical University; Chief Medical Officer, Revitalize Medical Group, Medical Director of Integrative Medicine at Summa Health Systems.

Dr. Tara Scott graduated from Northeast Ohio University College of Medicine and completed her residency with Summa Health Systems at Akron City Hospital in Ohio. She recently “retired” from OB/GYN after almost 20 years to focus on functional and integrative medicine. . She is an Associate Clinical Professor at Northeast Ohio Medical University, where she teaches residents and is involved in clinical research.

Dr. Scott is a certified menopause practitioner with the North American Menopause Society and a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She first became involved with hormone and integrative medicine while practicing as an OB/GYN. Her empathy for patients experiencing hormone-related issues led her to become trained as an advanced fellow and certified by the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. The evidence-based practices she employed helped many patients conquer chronic wellness issues. She then started Revitalize Medical Group, where she serves as the Chief Medical Officer. In 2016 she obtained an additional board certification in Integrative Medicine. Dr. Scott is passionate about educating the medical community on the advances in evidence-based hormone therapy. She lectures around the community to raise awareness about wellness and hormone balance. She recently got appointed as Medical Director for Summa Health in Akron, OH where she will develop an run and Integrative Medicine program.

Dr. Carmencita Slabinski, MD

Dr. Carmencita Slabinski

Carmencita Slabinski, MD is a dual board-certified physician in Internal Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine and Integrative and Regenerative Medicine though the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Youngstown State University and Medical Degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University through their six year combined BS/MD program. Dr. Slabinski completed her internship at Akron City Hospital and residency at Summa Health System, Akron City Hospital campus.

Dr. Slabinski believes that optimal wellness is best achieved though understanding oneself, one’s environment and ascertaining the underlying cause of chronic illness. She believes in empowering patients to heal their bodies and mind though merging functional and integrative medicine with classic traditional Western medicine. Dr. Slabinski believes we all have the ability to live longer, happier lives if we can optimize our wellness and prevent disease from emerging.

With this in mind, Dr. Slabinski listens to patient stories to gain an understanding of what might be happening physically, emotionally, spiritually and biochemically. She tries to address the underlying cause of illness rather than treating symptoms. Dr. Slabinski likes to partner with her patients to help them reach the goals they set in achieving their potential wellness.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, Zumba and other fitness activities, and is an avid photographer. She is also very active in her community, serves on several committees in her school district, and travels on mission trips with her church’s youth group.

Victoria Shaw, DNP, MSN, APRN

Dr. Victoria Shaw is a nurse practitioner and professional life, health and wellness coach with over 25 years of experience working holistically with individuals who wish to evolve their well being with a caring, self-compassionate and a pleasure based approach.
She is a long time student of yoga, meditation and the world’s wisdom traditions, and she incorporates these time honored systems of health and healing to bring an expanded set of options to the patients, students and clients she serves.

In her practice, Victoria utilizes various evidence based, integrative approaches to address issues of lifestyle, hormone balance, stress, sleep, nutrition and positive life stage development. She is in the process of becoming a certified functional medicine practitioner, she’s a credentialed yoga instructor, reiki master, mindfulness trainer, and employs these and other modalities to create a custom tailored plan just for you.

Victoria believes in the inherent value and worthiness of every human being and that we all deserve, and have the capacity to, live at our highest and fullest potential of abundant health as a manifestation of gratitude for what we have received from life. Dr. Mary Frazier Colfer

During her 15 years of experience working as a physician, Dr. Mary Frazier Colfer has developed an awareness of both the strengths and weaknesses of the traditional clinical practice of Western medicine. in order to gain greater insight and better serve her patients, she began studying functional medicine, nutrition, herbal medicine, biofeedback and meditation. Along the way, she developed a special interest in hormone balancing. She believes that true healing is best facilitated using Western modalities in conjunction with other healing philosophies. Her practice is devoted to evidence-based, functional medicine with a focus on hormone-related issues. She works with her patients to develop safe, individualized treatment plans based on the latest scientific breakthroughs.

Dr. Colfer graduated magna cum laude from Virginia Tech with a double major in biology and animal sciences. She attended medical school at the Medical College of Virginia at VCU. After completing her residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Virginia, she practiced emergency medicine for 14 years. She also spent two years serving as the medical director for the Fan Free Clinic. She recently completed a fellowship in Metabolic and Nutritional medicine offered in partnership between The George Washington University and the University of South Florida.
